Genesis: the Elizabeth Chronicles

Description

At age ten, Elizabeth Axelmore had the most charming life one could ask for on her home world; parents and three older siblings who love her to death, nanny there for her almost every second of the day. And then, during an act of violence, she had it all taken away. This forces Elizabeth to leave everything she knows she knows and loves behind to save her own life and travel to a strange new world a million miles away, Earth.

At first, all seems things will go perfect for Elizabeth, as she is adopted by a pleasant, loving family, the Duncan's, who accept her as one of her own. Elizabeth's growing up does not come without tragedy, as her childhood best friend, Jordan Taylor is abducted during innocent play right in front of the Duncan's house. Elizabeth grows up with her life constantly plagued with the thought of what happened to her best friend. But life must go on. And then, at age seventeen, Elizabeth gets the call from someone who knows where Jordan is.

Will Elizabeth place herself in danger to once again see her best friend?

What people are saying

Science fiction, ghosts, magical powers, alien technology, robots twisted bad guys, other worlds, a female child heroine. This was a really interesting story. I found it super difficult to get into however, the author puts in so many details, that I found my mind overwhelmed. His style it a bit tricky, too. With all that said, I did find myself enjoying this book. Our heroine child comes to Nevada and gets adopted by a normal Earth family which is always amusing in a story line. There is a lot going on in this book. A fantastic story, with many different main characters the reader gets involved with.

Mark is the author of several titles, all of which can be found listed on Goodreads. Make sure to stop by and check them out!

Teaser Tuesday!

This week's teaser comes from Samantha Durante's Stitch!

Her heart races, her muscles coil, and every impulse in Alessa's body screams at her to run... but yet she's powerless to move.

Still struggling to find her footing after the sudden death of her parents, the last thing college freshman Alessa has the strength to deal with is the inexplicable visceral pull drawing her to a handsome ghostly presence. In between grappling with exams and sorority soirees - and disturbing recurring dreams of being captive in a futuristic prison hell - Alessa is determined to unravel the mystery of the apparition who leaves her breathless. But the terrifying secret she uncovers will find her groping desperately through her nightmares for answers.

Because what Alessa hasn't figured out yet is that she's not really a student, the object of her obsession is no ghost, and her sneaking suspicions that something sinister is lurking behind the walls of her university's idyllic campus are only just scratching the surface...

The opening installment in a twist-laden trilogy, Stitch spans the genres of paranormal romance and dystopian sci-fi to explore the challenges of a society in transition, where morality, vision, and pragmatism collide leaving the average citizen to suffer the results.

Teaser #1

Nikhil looked at Alessa, bewildered. Fortunately, Alessa was too tipsy to feel more than a tinge of embarrassment at her own behavior, but she did feel sorry forthe hurt she saw in Nikhil's eyes, which were brown once again.

"I'm sorry, I can't," was all she said, and she pushed past him, heading for the stairs. Janie noticed Alessa's abrupt departure and made to follow, but Alessa waved her off. She needed to be alone.

Teaser #2

She cursed her own idiocy and hung her head in her hands. She'd definitely blown things with Nikhil. She couldn't imagine how she would face him tomorrow, or whenever she happened to see him next, if he even wanted to see her again. What he must be thinking right now? She couldn't even bear to guess.

It was all the ghost's fault. Stupid Issac. And there was that word again. When had she become so convinced of his name? And why couldn't she put him out of her head for one night? The whole situation frustrated her beyond belief.

Stitch is available on Amazon here.

Also, mark your calendars! Oct. 22nd-- 26th I will be featuring my review of Stitch along with an interview with Samantha Durante, ending with a stop right here as part of a HUGE blog tour featuring an awesome giveaway!
