Weekend Writing Warriors 8 Sentences~ That First Kiss by J.C. Valentine

Faint snoring drifted from behind his closed bedroom door, and Piper felt some of the tension lift from her shoulders at the knowledge of not having to endure his temper tantrum over a few lost minutes.
Entering his room, she found him lying on his stomach, the blankets bunched in a mound at his feet. She approached the foot of the bed and paused to take in the sight of him. Wearing a pair of black BVDs that made his ass look round and firm like an apple, and nothing else, he was simply mouth-watering to look at. Lost in sleep, what she could see of his face revealed its usual scowl was absent, making him seem almost boyish in a youthful, angelic way. She almost felt bad for having to wake him up.
            Almost.
Slapping the bottom of his bare foot, she shouted into the room, “Rise and shine!”

Weekend Writing Warriors 8 Sentences~ Spring Cleaning by Brandi Salazar

Leaning back, Luke grabbed her chin and wrenched her face up to meet his eyes. “If there is one thing I have learned in my life,” he said fiercely, “it’s that everything happens for a reason. You were given a second chance, don’t throw it away. Randy isn’t invincible. He’s a man who has lost his mind, so stand up to him and fight. Take back your life.”

“What life?” she huffed, trying to pull out of his grip, but his hold was firm.

“Any life you want,” he rasped, then lowered his head to seal his mouth over hers.

Weekend Writing Warriors 8 Sentences~ That First Kiss by JC Valentine

"You look scared," he observed, the corners of his mouth twisting slightly.
"What are you doing?" Piper flattened herself against the door as Tate tilted his head toward her.
"Thinking," he said, distracted.
"About what?" Her heart pounded and she was finding it harder to breathe.
His lips whispered across hers. "Kissing you."

Weekend Writing Warriors 8 Sentences ~ That First Kiss by JC Valentine

His lips grazed lightly across her cheek and Piper closed her eyes as they gently touched her skin and made a slow path along her jaw to her mouth. His breathing was heavy and ragged as he held her close, breathing her in. “I love you, Piper Donovan,” he whispered.
Piper’s breath came to a screeching halt and her heart bottomed out. Had her ears deceived her, or had Tate just told her he loved her?
“I love you so damn much, and it scares the fucking shit out of me,” he confessed through gritted teeth, as if admitting that had cost him dearly. “I know I’m an asshole, and I’m sure as hell not worthy of you, but if you give me a chance, I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to be.”

Weekend Writing Warriors 8 Sentences~Crossfire (Addicted, book 2) by Brandi Salazar

About the scene: This takes place after Jessica's BFF Amber suffers a hormonal breakdown and she is giving her her own idea of a special gift to cheer her up.

“I need you to get a carton of ice cream—”

“Mint chocolate chip!” Amber interrupted, sitting up straighter.

“Mint chocolate chip,” I repeated. “A bag of Fritos to replace the old one.” I thumbed behind me and Carmen’s eyes followed the movement, narrowing with annoyance when he spotted Amber happily munching away at his stash. “And a box of Tampax, size super, cotton, not that synthetic crap.”

Carmen froze and his attention snapped back to me, his eyes wide and fearful. I grinned, acting oblivious to his discomfort. “Got all that?” I asked when he made no move to blink or respond or even breathe.

He swallowed audibly and blinked several times as he struggled to regain his composure. “Ye—” He choked on the word a little and cleared his throat to try again. “Yeah, I got it,” he said, his voice strained.

“’Kay, thanks!” I gently nudged him out the door and closed it behind him.

“You are one wicked broad,” Amber said, her face aglow with pleasure.

“Good present?” I asked, skipping back to the bed.

“The best.”
